Welcome to the newly updated Visit Ibara website!
Lovingly created in 2019 by the Ibara City's first JET CIR (Coordinator for International Relations), this website has been overdue an update for quite some time.
We hope to steadily update all the information on the site, and give it a new and dynamic look and feel with more photos, features and more!
We also hope to become a more up-to-date resource of all things Ibara for you English speakers; ranging from blog posts about the city from our current CIR, updates in our new 'What's on?' calendar showing current and upcoming events you can attend in the city and the latest and most important news highlighted in the changing home carousel.
The site is still a work in progress but we are excited to share what's really going on in Ibara City, a real hidden gem in the Japanese countryside. Forget Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka and the rest of the big cities - 90% of Japan is countryside, don't ya know? So if you want the real, authentic Japan experience, Visit Ibara!
