Train

There are 3 train lines in the area: Ibara Rail, JR Line and the Shinkansen Line (bullet train).

The Ibara Line is a ワンマン電車 (one man train) system, with only one carriage and there are up to 4 different types of special carriage that you can ride:

The Star Train
The Art Train
The Yume Yasuragi Train
The Sengoku Train

How to ride the Ibara Line:

The Ibara Line doesn't accept IC cards (such as Suica or Pasmo), so tickets must be purchased at a ticket machine/booth at the station you board the train at. If there is no place to buy a ticket, when you board the train, take a numbered ticket from the machine, and then pay the driver when you alight.

There are also discount tickets available, such as the Denim Ticket (Denimu Kippu), that gives a discounted rate for a return ticket from Okayama City-Ibara, as long as the return is used within 2 days, for just 1730 yen.
