Originally founded in 1683, Shoukatsu Shrine attracts visitors from not just the Chugoku Region, but also many visitors from the Kyushu area.



The shrine is popular for praying for your wife’s health. According to the legend, before the shrine was founded, a princess died of an illness called ‘shoukatsu’. It is said that since then, the princess has been helping out other wives in the afterlife.
