About

The Budou Rouman-kan, literally ‘Romantic Grape Hall’, is a market tucked away in the vineyards of Aono Town in Ibara City. The market is "the" place to get the carefully reared grapes that are a very famous product of this area.

When you get there, you may be surprised by how busy it is. Sometimes the market is truly packed, as it attracts customers from all around the country. You can find people lining up around the shop with baskets full of fresh grapes. It’s best to arrive as early as possible, to guarantee that you’ll get the grapes that you want. But there’s more to the market than just buying grapes. You can also buy fresh local vegetables, have some food or grape ice cream in the café, or just try the samples of the different delicious grapes. We highly recommend the mixed grape ice cream.

So take the time to enjoy driving through these beautiful Japanese vineyards, before sampling the very best grapes that Okayama has to offer.
