Located just outside the city, an 8-minute bus ride away, this temple is a shrine dedicated to Kannon, the goddess of mercy. The name "Yomeirazu" means "not needing a wife": a visit to this temple would give husbands the health they need to avoid becoming a burden to their wives. I found the large, 12-metre-high, 88-tonne statue of the goddess Kannon particularly impressive.
The temple is a peaceful place, with a viewpoint just a 5-minute walk above the temple. You can draw an omikuji to determine your luck or hang up an ema, a small wooden plate on which you write a wish.
The Ibara Refresh Park on the way back adds an extra dimension with its leisure facilities and Japanese garden, perfect for a relaxing walk.
