Cultural Assets Centre and fire-starting experience

This cultural center plays a crucial role in restoring and exhibiting various objects and artifacts discovered during archaeological excavations. The chronological layout of the artefacts provides a clear view of technological advances, from stone tools to metal tools, to the evolution of pottery influenced by Korean techniques. The diversity of objects on display offers a rich perspective on the evolution of ancient technologies.

After that, I was able to try starting a fire with a pump drill, a tool used in the past. It was a rather amusing experiment, but one that took several tries before it was conclusive. The pumping motion rotates the wooden rod placed on a fire board. The friction generated creates heat and turns the board into dust. When there's enough of it and enough heat is generated, an ember forms. At this point, this ember must be kept "alive" to start the fire, consuming fibers like paper.
